Who Cares for People with Schizophrenia

Families that care for a family member with mental illness need support in order to help them to do the best job they can do. Dr Sunny CD Collings of Otago University, Wellington conducted this study of a representative sample of carers. The research shows family carers of people with recent-onset schizophrenia are an important element of care arrangements, providing the foundations on which the mental health system is built.
