Exploring media reports of young offenders and their families
Historically, youth crime has been a topic of great interest in New Zealand’s print media, but there has been little research on the families of young offenders.
This submission supported some of the proposals in this Bill, principally that the Youth Court should address the underlying causes of offending, and opposes other proposals such as the introduction of military-style activity camps.
